Holiday Gifts-For Gals On The Run

Athletically inclined females are eager for more stuff or experiences that help them pursue their passions and PR goals.

Pounding through sneakers-considered 'done' after about 30-35 hours of wear (not miles)…a pair of kicks or gift card to a fav brand for us---will get used before the new year even gets going.
Newton-Distance Elite Racing Shoe

Selecting a sneaker- THAT means=personal preferences to consider…but it's a great way for the someone to try new models from a trusted label. Naturally inclined running types-should check out the new Newton Distance Elite Racing Shoe-clocks in at 7.2oz (M), 6.2oz(W).

Technologically speaking-it merges the race-like MV3 (review) and a 2mm drop-with more forefoot cushioning found in other Newton Trainers (4 lugs). Similarly though-is the fast drying mesh upper, asymmetrical lacing system, welded support strapping over the mid foot... $155-we look forward to reviewing.

We find ourselves wearing kicks even off the clock---though not the kind we run in- as walking is a heel to toe motion. For that-New Balance delivers with retro-inspired sneakers from years-even decades past…with the brightly tinged suede/mesh upper 574er…comfy via the brand's ENCAP cushioning system and super lightweight outsole.

574-New Balance-3 color waves-an excellent gift for sporty chic style

The little things matter…like keeping hair off faces during a workout. So for those wanting some style with a clean forehead---the smartly designed Bani Bands™---banishes bangs with a highly adjustable strap that takes a page from how bras get comfy.

Truly the first headband that does not induce migraines-the SoftGrip™ lined Bani Bands come with a tri-glide adjuster that ensures a fit for any head---on the brushed elastic band that won't damage hair. Made well too-they're securely single stitched-with flex-stitching-that allows for stretching without breaking. Great stocking stuffers-the headbands come in a massive assortment of fabric options including a sports' series,

... thick or thin or braided- with optional flirty finishes like glitter or sequins…and a custom design too. Go team!

The gift of an experience- is the most coveted item, IMO. We always appreciate that over 'stuff'  …and for gals who are athletically inclined…and/or adore some pampering-a jaunt-of long or short duration to a snowy resort---now easily delivers both.

We got clued into this at a Ski Vermont event in NYC---where the Green Mountain state resorts-large and small- are now serving up many many different kinds of vertical trail/lodging deals-very affordable packages- for college kids, families -w/w/o pets-including a fifth graders ski free passport (!!!!), women only adventures---or two pal escapades via a Learn to Ski/Snowboard (alpine+nordic) month in January-Bring A Friend program.

What's ALSO nice though-are the other options available- in this beautiful part of the country-where the  bucolic New England forested country side is respectfully infused with 21st century additions like state of the art snow making (80% of terrain covered) ---and off slope amenities featuring culinary feasts for everyone- including demanding gourmand eaters, Ben + Jerry worshippers- and beer lovers, and luxury indulgences via soothing spa facilities designed to relax and coddle.

Easy to get to -with major airlines, buses, Amtrak trains, and drivable plowed highways/byways able to get travelers there, hassle free.

BONUS: Mad River Glen always had that 'Ski It If You Can' cool cred…AND 3 sizes of bumper stickers, available in several languages-stating just that…has proceeds from sales donated to the non-political Direct Aid International-an organization founded by former Mad River Glen staffer Jonathan Hoffman dedicated to humanitarian work in Afghanistan.

Plus pics of the recipient holding the sticker somewhere---can join a kind of Hall of Fame of shots at the  après-ski fav, Mad River Glen's General Stark's Pub. You don't even need to be a skier---
