BACKSTAGE BEAUTY/HAIR WARREN/TRICOMI-L'OREAL PROFESSIONNEL

hanging out backstage...

Barshnikov Center, West 37th Street, NYC + Milk Made @ Standard Hotel, NYC

Dubbed "Twisted Elegance"---the Ed Tricomi hair creation= nicely complimented the polished looks of Douglas Hannant's S/S 2014 collection.

The sleek straight locks-blow-dryed to perfection with a flat brush-  using a dime size amount of the workhorse Mythic Oil-

LOVE Mythic Oil (far left)----we douse our hair with the light liquid before a pool swim-swimcap covering it all up of course. Also a creamy milk version available-pictured on right.
With the front part (from middle of the eyebrows)  smoothly pulled back and secured with a clear rubber band... the entire head then got lightly sprayed with  L'OrĆ©al Professionnel Infinium 2 hairspray.

Next- small piece of hair from under the rubber band was twisted around and down the ponytail a few times...and invisibly secured with a bobby pin-pushed upwards to secure the twist from underneath. If necessary, a second pin was used before the whole 'do was sprayed with L’Oreal Professionnel Freezing Mist to keep the twist in place.

Lastly-  L'OrĆ©al Professionnel Perfect Shimmer spray added extra shine, and banished flyaways...along with a final flat iron smoothing out--- if necessary.

this stylist always wear great kicks---see below!

WHAT ELSE:
Another Warren-Tricomi Salon---set to open at 19th/5th. BTW the Plaza Hotel locale-is where we got our best haircut ever.

The rest-

BUSY Jody Formica-the star of the MakeUp Show in NYC---was lead artist here

desert tones----
Lara Mercier and Nars gave complections perfection

final look...

New to us-Morgan Taylor polish...a family company where the two daughters-Taylor Daniel and Morgan Haile-'offer-up' their names for the cause.

Harmony Polish

Later at the Standard Hotel-Ed Tricomi and his team-using L'Oreal Professionnel products and boatloads of hair extensions---created what we would call-editorial looks-for the kinda over-the-top presentation of Mordekai by Ken Borochov "extreme adornment" jewelry line.

Wow...Twerk Princess-crossed with Masai Warrior-crossed with Lolita inspirations--and no surprise-titled the Chastity Collection-with all those face masks.

Bling-ornate--- there is serious workmanship going on here. Love the ear cuffs...and no wonder Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj are probably on speed-dial..
Though frankly we do not get the whole big deal about twerking. Ever been to a Grateful Dead concert-back in the day...or any jam band show? There ya go...massive twerking...no real sense of rhythm required. IMO.
