PAJAR CANADA Footwear/Outerwear Accessories Fall 2013/Winter 2014

Group shot-OSLO Collection
Gary's Loft, NYC

Canadians meet-ups almost always guarantee hockey fans-that we were expecting when we received the media invite to preview the Montreal born, PAJAR CANADA footwear and outerwear collections-recently.

But for a label we somehow missed at all those Rocky mountain tradeshows-we were pleasantly surprised at the high-endness of the offerings...all durable, elements defying-as expected from footwear originating above the USA 48.

Big plus- being able to withstand harsh wintry conditions with style-and comfortably via boots often blessed with patented insulating midsoles made up of tiny air bubbles embedded in layers of different materials...very cool.

Highlights were numerous-including learning that this company, founded by Paul Golbert in 1963-is 50 years old...and still family run going on their third generation.

Michel and David Golbert (L-R)-3rd generation

Nadia, Mina (front)-quilted waterproof-cute!
Style, warmth and weatherproof-even the burly kicks for men are urban eye candy for the feet.

The Pajar Canada shoes and boots are categorized into three groups for Fall 2013-Oslo (Norway's capital) denotes luxury boots for chic ladies that elevates après ski  to another (higher) level...the Heritage collection for men and women...that refs the brand's "iconic designs and tradition of superior performance quality made in Canada..."and the Sport Collection-(M/W)---with kicks that take urban sneaker, lace-ups, and other weather tough shoe and boots styles-and gives them a trend -on makeover for "luxe meets street" looks.
Mae slip-ons-super warm-we'd wear these outside too.

retro-après ski look-shaggy goat hair...Scarlet

great to tuck in leggings-Chloe

LOVE-packaging pictures family photos and items from the early 60's-when the company was founded (1963)

Nice detail-logo silver plaque...ruched quilted pattern...btw easy on/off via inner full length zip

outsoles grip in ice and won't harden at all-a proprietary blend...with the signature Canadian Maple Leaf imprint

Sport Collection...
Unique to PAJAR and no doubt, patented...the Ice Grippers are so cool-and eliminates the need for Yaktrax or other slip-on ice traction devices. When not needed-the grippers fold into their compartment  (swing it reverse)---in the outsole-

grippers swing -one way with metal grips up for icy terrain-the other way-flat smooth

a hand held hook to open the grippers' part-lock into place in the outsole...then easily flip over to other smooth side when not needed.

nice retro label-

Sport Collection-hiker, equestrian and urban sneakers--all well re-interpreted for colder temps....

one of our favs!!! Beyonce on a lug outsole-buckles give it loads of cool...in warm kicks meant to be worn with zip revealing...here in cognac-also in dark brown and black

Basel-boat shoe vibe on a leather lace-up

Mix of materials-tweed wool, suede and leather upper-Eugenio-also in black-warmly insulated

w.o the blue sticker-obvi-but tough rubber outsole will last for years

distressed and leathers -faux fur lining=great kicks at home on the range as well as on the streets...

Off the court leather high top Lonestar-men's sport collection

outsole for Lonestar-w/ maple leaf-Pajar Canada logo

rain be gone-bold red zip and double buckles-add appeal to a utilitarian boot...

a gift for women on the go---easy pack waterproof rain boots-cute and practical---can scrunch them up into a tote bag too -for transport to and from work

toggle adjusted at top-secure fit-nice detail for this style

booties...many different styles for women...stacked heels and warm lining-multi-taskers

a lot of styles-this silhouette works with jeans and dresses/skirts...

all around winner-Cabotine from Heritage Collection
a fav too-stretchy rubber insert-makes this boot comfy and will give when you want to tuck leggings into them-but a smooth fit for thinner hosiery.

a bit blurry-but the idea here is that a lot of the warm boots-are really easy on/off with double zippers running the length-one on each side...great for athletic calves!

Equestrian styles-in smooth leather...

Sunrise-on left in black
