NONOO Fall 2013 Collection-Women's RTW

Standard Hotel, NYC
New York Fashion Week/NYC

Sharp tailoring, military/equestrian design inspirations...and just flattering, flirty grown-up feminine chic---learn how to pronounce Misha Nonoo's name---this talent will surely be retailing at a major store near you.

Here's why===the separates-dresses, skirts, knits and outerwear items are all stylish, modern and the kind of clothes women will want to wear for many many seasons. On trend but nothing dated here. Hallelujah.

The packed presentation was guarded by a stoic soldier tricked out in military regalia (Russian, natch)---but he totally busted a smile out for the gaggles of gals posing for pics...

Pretty models all lined up amidst a white forest with St. Petersberg skyline in the background-the inspiration:

A weekend invitation to the Russian countryside from a descendant of the Romanov family leads t an unconventional modern adventure for Misha Nonoo's alluring British vanguard. Blending beguiling romantic youth and confident ease with noble sophistication. Nonoo's rich hues of Romanov rouge, imperial ink and military green make up this season's bold color palette.

What we loved---well just about everything-the riding jackets with military medallions ("channeling Karl Bryullov's portrait V.A. Perovsky")...the woven, cozy knits and Prince of Wales checks in the sweet skirts with flared skater's hems, and straight leg trousers...the double breasted and belted coats, winter shorts done right, and boyfriend cool blazers in sturdy wools, with distinguished shoulders...and the color palette-red, black, white, gray interspersed with checks and a magpie---an English bird that shows up on a sweater (pictured above)...and in prints.

PLUS: A strapless hammered silk evening gown in Romanov red...a timeless elegant frock...to wear anywhere in the world.
