Bright and early---Bibhu Mohapatra's backstage gathering of models, hair stylists, make-up pros and nail technicians--all started up at 6AM.

AMIT ABRAHAM-lead stylist L'Oreal Professionnel
We didn't-getting in to survey the bustling scene at about 7AM...impressed with the number of people and the number of cups of Starbucks coffee. Def a sponsor we miss ha ha.

True Grip Powder---new for 2013 by L'Oreal Professionnel-

True Grip-"adds instant volume"---a powder...shaking it "...looks really bad backstage..." JOKE

The geometric, graphic 'do, coiffed by led hair stylist AMIT ABRAHAM/L'Oreal Professionnel-- got very smooth/sleek by using Mythic Oil Milk to protect the model's locks...and copious amounts of Freezing Mist and/or Architexture---for not a stray hair anywhere ABSOLUTE perfection...finished off with Perfect Shimmer for shine.
hair-center part, baby flat ironed smooth-then in two pigtails...braided ---before bring twisted and pinned into a low bun at the base of the neck.

spray, spray spray---no strays

even naturally straight hair got worked over as the hair required precision

Shorter hair can rock this graphic look-smooth---end slick behind ears

Laura Polko-L'Oreal Professionnel---on right

3 pairs of hands to get this model's hair perfect....

one of our fav products....great to wear before hitting a swimming pool-unde swim cap

braids-kinda in a figure eight pattern...well pinned

Maybelline's make-up team-led by Gato---was most amazing as they were up late the night prior doing the visage for Betsey Johnson's S/S 2013 runway fest/birthday party.

eye color extended out to temples

A luminous look-a bit ethereal, imo---achieved by encircling the eyes with Color Sensational Lip Color in Shocking Coral and Fifth Avenue Fushia-with Magnificent Mauve patted on the lips. Bronzing powder -varied by skin tones---was used for definition on inner eye sockets and eyelids---as well as temples and cheeks.

And on the apples of the cheeks----a nice peachy pink...

lots of brushes-different functions...

strikingly romantic  make-up---but not too bold. In real life-just use the pink on the lids...and blend more...

Gato-still smiling!

in broad daylight-the look is def more editorial...

On the nails-two coats of Maybelline's Audacious Asphalt---"...a balance grey-between black and white..."in keeping with the rebirth/reborn theme..."a Luna moth into a butterfly..."

Clothes on the racks ---already making a statement--- the laser cut fabrics/leather...and the striking broken shards prints---often insert in panels on slim fitted day dresses and skirts---in several color waves...

close-up netted-lacy fabric detail

laser cut black leather jacket-stunning

United Bamboo sandals

Bibhu Mohapatra intro'ed his plush leather clutches and handbags-in dramatic geometric shapes...and bold tones---including this terrific cobalt blue

Butterfly Handbag

Chartreuse is another popular color for Spring 2013. Bibhu Mohapatra used also---one example, this glamorous evening gown with tulle underskirt---that would have looked amazing on Julianne Moore for the Emmy's---
