Rockford, Michigan based Wolverine has an 125 year old history that manifests itself in many ways-these days...including rugged workboots, outdoor and water shoes to name a few...in addition to the high style, premium 1000 Mile fashion collection.

All footwear is durable and comfortable and value priced given the top of the line materials and construction quality---that's top notch.

warmth rated to -40 below-400 grams of insulation, abrasion resistant ArmorTek coating on high wear areas

PLUS: Wolverine's own patented Individual Comfort System (ICS™)- an actual disc attached to the outsole of the shoe, underneath the insole-that controls the four adjustable comfort settings-more cushioning-or  turn the other way for more firmness. Fab...

Fall 2012 highlights include a revamped SwampMonster for harsh environments, and retro looking women's boots---Reyna and Izzy.

REYNA (left)-waterproof leather/suede upper -with the patented ICS technology, brushed NYLEX lining... IZZY (right) waterproof suede, plush Sherpa lining to wear the collar up or down, NXT odor control sock liner

Personally, we would wear these waterproof clogs-Zuri all the time.

Zuri-waterproof clog, NXT odor control sockliner, rubber tough outsole- also in black, lavender and brown
With enough heel height, vintage sneaker looking with multi-color outsole layers...to be above the slush level, a grippy Vibram sole for the ice, and easy on/off---and cute enough to wear with jeans/leggings etc...love!

Available now-the low cut trail hikers... PULSAR (men's) and Flare (women's-$105)-moisture wicking, breathable (mesh upper), springy with arch stabilizers, comfy and supportive all day worthy with the patented ICS™ dial a comfort disc and Claw-Trax™ outsole.

mesh upper with stabilizing overlay, wave mesh lining-with waterproof Gore-Tex®, Ortholite®footbed Pulsar-Flare (l-r)

Vibram lug outsole
We are big fans of the Flare---which we could finally test recently- hauling a light day pack up/down---on a not too steep mountain trail that had a few uneven surfaces...but not one that required high cut hiking boots.

Men's light Grey- Women's available in dark grey and in light lime green-with the it totally works ICS technology and Ortholite® footbed
The ICS™ is truly amazing---and it's underneath the footbed-so it's not like you feel it...plus, most important for us on the way down a mountain-the outsole GRIPS with enough of a protective toe cap----...even on rocky surfaces that were wet with a bit of snow melt. We never felt wobbly either-ehoug support for our purposes.

For hot days that given the weather this Spring, will surely happen, we could see how these breathable mesh upper, versatile kickers would work well for travelers too-wanting too pack one pair of shoes-with all day comfort important- touring cobblestones byways---as well as sturdy enough for day hikes that aren't too highly graded or require one to lug around backpacks with  a lot of weight.
